What to know

What to know before you visit

A short, practical rundown of age rules, dress code and everyday questions, gathered in one place.

Age and ID

The casino gaming floor is restricted to guests aged 18 and over. Genting operates a Challenge 25 policy, so anyone who looks under 25 will be asked for valid photo ID before being allowed onto the floor. The hotel, spa and restaurants are open to all ages; it is specifically the gaming floor that carries the 18+ restriction.

Dress code

Smart casual is the rule on the casino floor. Smart jeans and trainers are acceptable. Football shirts, muscle or vest tops, construction workwear, caps and other hats are all turned away, the last of these for CCTV visibility reasons the operator states itself. See our casino page for more detail.

Smoking and vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the hotel itself. Designated areas exist in the casino, in Sky Bar & Restaurant and outside the building. A minimum £150 cleaning charge applies to hotel rooms if this rule is not observed.

Membership and offers

No membership is required to enter the casino; it operates on an open-door basis. Registering as a My Genting member is optional and gives access to promotional offers, but current promotions themselves should always be checked on the operator’s own site or app, not here.

Common questions

Do I need to be a member to use the casino?

No. Genting describes this as an open-door casino, meaning you can walk in without joining first. You can register as a member once inside if you want access to promotional offers.

Can children visit Resorts World Birmingham?

The wider complex, including the hotel, shops, restaurants and cinema, is open to all ages. The casino gaming floor itself is restricted to guests aged 18 and over, with a Challenge 25 policy at the door.

What should I wear?

The stated dress code is smart casual. Smart jeans and trainers are fine; football shirts, vest tops, construction workwear, caps and other hats are not permitted on the casino floor.

How do I take a break from gambling here?

Land-based casinos in Great Britain, including this one, use the SENSE self-exclusion scheme rather than GAMSTOP, which only covers online gambling. See our responsible gambling page for details and links.

Can I book a room or a table through this site?

No. Grand Gaming Stay is an independent guide with no booking system of any kind. Use the hotel's own website or telephone line for rooms, and the relevant restaurant's own channel for tables.
